What We Believe

God the Father

There is One God eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God the Father, the First Person of the Trinity, orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and providence and plan of redemption. His Fatherhood denotes a spiritual relationship, first of all within the Trinity, and secondly, with mankind: creatively in relation to all men, but spiritually only in relation to believers.

Scriptures: Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, Luke 1:35, 1 John 5:7, 2 Corinthians 13:14

God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Though He was tempted in every way we are, He still lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is now at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for the believer as his High Priest and Advocate; and according to His promise will come again in person, visibly, with power and great glory.

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity and is the supernatural and sovereign agent in convicting the world of sin, spiritual regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling, sanctifying, instructing, empowering for godly living and for service, and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

Our Need for Salvation

We believe that, in Adam’s sin of disobedience to the revealed will and word of God, he incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death, became subject to the wrath of God, became inherently corrupt, and utterly incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God, apart from Divine grace. We believe that salvation is wholly of God by grace, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross, the merit of His shed blood, not on the basis of human merit or works.

Scriptures: Genesis 2:17, Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 2:1-3, Ephesians 4:18-19, Ephesians 6:10-19, Mark 7:20-23, Revelation 12:9, 1 Peter 5:3

Becoming a Christian

The sole condition for receiving everlasting life is faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died a substitutionary death on the cross for humanity’s sin and rose bodily from the dead. We believe that in order to be saved, a sinner must be born again through personal faith in Jesus Christ. The new birth is a new creation, that it is instantaneous and not a process, and that in the new birth the one dead in his sins is made alive in Christ and becomes a partaker of the divine nature and receives the gift of eternal life.

The Bible

The Bible is inspired by God and is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is God’s story written by 40 authors over a period of 1600 years. The explanation of its amazing unity and message is the inspiration of God. The weight of Christianity rests on the Bible, not on the thoughts, ideas, and teachings of men.

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Hebrews 4:12, John 20:31

The Eternal Future

All people will be resurrected, the Christian to everlasting life in Heaven and eternal rewards; the non-Christian to everlasting death in Hell and eternal punishment.

Scriptures: John 5:24-29, 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, Revelation 20:11-15

The Church

The universal Church includes every man, woman, or child who has put his faith in Jesus Christ. The universal Church is made up of all the believers, everywhere. At the moment of salvation, the new believer is placed into one united spiritual body, the Church.

ACC believes that sex is reserved exclusively within marriage between a man and a woman. Further, the pastors and staff of ACC shall only participate in weddings and solemnize marriages between one man and one woman.
