Jesus is For The Kingdom of God

KEY PASSAGE
Matthew 4:17 ESV… From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
TO KNOW WHAT JESUS IS “FOR”… YOU MUST KNOW WHAT WAS ON HIS MIND
Jesus launched his ministry by talking about the Kingdom… Mt. 4:17
Jesus regularly spoke about the Kingdom… Mt. 13:31; 44; 47; 20:1; 22:2
John the Baptist prepared the way by talking about the Kingdom… Mt. 3:1
Jesus spoke of the Kingdom after his resurrection… Acts 3:1;
The Kingdom is to be preached to the ends of the earth… Mt. 24:14
BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WRONG KINGDOM
Because God's Kingdom isn’t readily observable… it’s easy to ignore… Luke 17:20-21
Jesus wasn’t building an earthly kingdom… John 18:36
The kingdoms of this world are nothing more than instruments in God’s hands… Rom. 9:17
The Kingdom of God will grow no matter what… Mt. 16:18
The workers are few in the Kingdom of God… Mt. 9:35-38
TO BE “FOR” THE KINGDOM OF GOD… SEEK IT!
We are to seek God’s Kingdom first… Mt. 6:33; Col. 3:1-2
Two men with different goals: Peter and Jesus… Mt. 16:21-23
Jesus submitted his desires to the will of His Father… Luke:22:41-42
People should know where a believer's citizenship lies… Phil. 3:20-21
TO BE “FOR” THE KINGDOM OF GOD… PRAY FOR IT!
We should regularly pray for God’s Kingdom… Mt. 6:9-10
Listen to your own prayers to know what’s important to you!
In John 17:15-21 we see Jesus praying for the citizens of the Kingdom!
Believers can (and should) pray for earthly kings and kingdoms too… but our ultimate allegiance lies with the Kingdom of God ... 1 Tim. 2:1-2
TO BE “FOR” THE KINGDOM OF GOD… PROCLAIM IT!
We proclaim God’s Kingdom… Rom. 10:15
We must tell people about both the plan of salvation and the privileges of salvation!
There is no greater privilege than entering the Kingdom of God!
When people think of you, what is it that you are known to be “FOR”?
