God’s Will For Life
Sermon Notes
TODAY’S PASSAGE:
Psalm 139:13-16 ESV… For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
A VERY SENSITIVE & CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECT
On January 22, 1984… President Ronald Reagan issued a Presidential Proclamation designating the third Sunday of January as “National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday“.
Reagan once said, “I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.“
Since 1973, there have been about 64 million abortions in the United States.
Great discernment must be used when talking about this subject, as a great many people have been affected by this issue in one way or another.
A BIBLICAL VIEW OF THE UNBORN
God is intricately involved in the life of the unborn… Psalm 139:13; John 10:11
It has been said that if we could see one-half of what is going on within us, we should not dare to move.
God’s activity in creating life is both astonishing and unique… Psalm 139:14
Children are truly a gift from the Lord… Psalm 127:3-5
TESTIMONY OF HEALING
A life healed: Gloria Figueroa
There is forgiveness for all who turn to the Lord… Psalm 103:12; Isaiah 43:25; 1 John 1:9
God is close to those who feel the weight of their mistakes… Psalm 34:18
Just because a person knows they are forgiven… doesn’t mean they don’t need to still heal.
QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:
Why is the issue of abortion so controversial? Should it be?
What are the dangers of not having a Biblical worldview of children in the womb?
On what level is God actually involved in the whole birth process?
Is there someone you can minister to this week regarding this issue?
